Changing the World Tour Calendar

Postby DyeisonMartins » 21 Jan 2025, 01:44

Hey guys, I have a doubt about the Tour.ini.

I want to create a calendar with older seasons (200x). Do I need to create a complete tour.ini or I can create year by year in the same save?

For example: I create 2005, play it and later create a 2006 season, before starting the year,. It's possible?

(sorry for the broken english).

Hello,

yes, it's possible. You'll have to change the Tour.ini on Week 52 or before for the following year and apply the rules of the "Different Tournaments each year " section here : topic11-31376.php .

You can also create all years beforehand.

You cannot change tournaments' order or draw sizes for the past years or the current one without invalidating your current saved games.

I think this question might relate to this topic: I think there was an option to have different tour.ini for different years, but i can't find it in the modding manuals right now :( So do I remember correctly? If so: What do I have to do, when I want to start my game in 2023 and have different Tour.ini for 2023, 2024, 2025 (should be used in following years).

Sorry for not finding it in Forum right now :unsure:

cj1984,
just use the new "Different Tournaments each year".

Otherwise, maybe it still works, but it's much less convenient : topic29-17924.php .

So to use them, you still need a main Tour.ATP.Ini (or WTA) and then for each year, TE engine will check if there's a corresponding Tour.ATPXXXX.Ini (or WTA) where XXXX is the year number ; if the .Ini exist, it'll use it, else it'll use the main .Ini .

This was the thing I was looking for. Having it all in one .ini would not work for hundreds of ITF Futures (complete calender). Thanks for your answer! :yes:

Just to double-check...

Even if you make different Tour.Ini beforehand (like an ATP.Tour1999 and ATP.Tour2000), the tournament week should stay the same in each file?

Or is it ok to set the same tournament on week A in ATP.Tourxxx1 and on week B in ATP.Tourxxx2?

Jogatiba,
this is the TE2013 way ; I don't recall how it works, so you'll have to try it out by yourself.
TE4 way is the "Different Tournaments each year" section here : https://www.managames.com/tennis/doc/Ho ... ml#TourIni .

Hi Manu,

Different question, but comes under the same subject. If I want to change the date (or name) or an existing tournament in the middle of a current World Tour save, am I right in thinking the below is all that needs to be done? Purely as an example, if I wanted to move the Qatar Open back to week 1 from 2030.

In my Tour.ATP.ini, under the current Qatar Open entry, I would only add:

YearPeriod = -2029
Family = Qatar

Then, at the very end of the Tour.ATP.ini, I'd create a new entry for Qatar Open, including the lines:

Week = 1
YearPeriod = 2030-
Family = Qatar

And as long as I update the files before the end of 2029, this should switch the dates from 2030 without any issues? This is just an example, really. I just want to know how flexible the calendar is in a game that's already started.

holt77,
that seems all correct ; if it doesn't work, you should still be able to revert these changes to load your saved career, and let me know so I could investigate.

I did the whole editing the tournament with -2014 and next year with 2015- and it worked perfectly in the middle of a WT save. Only thing I would mention (and Im not sure if that was the reason but just in case) is that the WT save was failing when I edited a tournament that hadnt happened yet. For example changing Paris 2015 date on May 2014 (which is before Paris 2014). I edited some april tournaments and next year they were changed fine. So maybe do the changes on the last weeks of the year. I think the 2014 tournaments didnt appear in the calendar but they appeared in the tour info (activity, tour draws, etc.) but Im talking from memory. The next year the tournaments appeared all in the calendar weeks I had set. Remember to add the family to preserve previous champions too as it says in the tutorial. And just keep a backup of your current WT, or use git to keep versioning.

Actually tried again and it didn´t work. I don´t know what I did right the first time but this time is not working. I´m changing a tournament to be 2016- and a copy of that one to be 2017- and it doesn´t work, specifically the addition of the copy (which has different unique number, etc.). The world tour career fails suddenly when I continue the career with a bug. If anyone knows why or how please let me know.

lukizo1,
shouldn't it be "-2016 & 2017-" instead of "2016- & 2017-" ? :scratch:

Yes, that's what I meant manutoo. I mean I was putting it correctly just made a typo here in the forum.

Actually it ended up working but I don't know why. I did change to instead of changing next season I'm changing the season afterwards, so I got into 2017 with changes for the 2018 season. Issue is again, since I was trying for quite a while, don't remember if I loaded a before December 2016 or January 2017 save. I'm not sure why it worked after many errors before. Maybe you know better when the calendar calculation could let you do this change. I think at least for me you just need to go to the end of the season and do the changes with the files backed up and try see what it works.

You cannot change 2017 on the Week #52 of 2016, but before that, it should be fine.
