Skill Decay Slider

Postby diamondclint » 28 Jul 2026, 16:23

I'd like to request additional skill decay options, perhaps a slider with 10% increments instead of just the current 0% / 50% / 100% choices.

In my experience, 50% and 100% lead to completely different career paths. At 50% decay, my player eventually becomes historically dominant, routinely beating Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic by large margins. It feels like an international news story if I so much as lose a set. But at 100% decay, maintaining my skills becomes difficult enough that I struggle to remain competitive and tumble down the rankings. Even when I'm very strategic about building up XP during tournaments and then taking rest weeks to train up my skills I simply can't maintain competitiveness.

I've spent several full seasons experimenting with different approaches but I can't seem to find a middle ground. I play on Pro-10 for what it's worth.

I think more intermediate skill options would let players find a balance that keeps tough victories hard-earned instead of choosing between being a Tennis God or an also-ran with no middle ground. Thanks so much for a great game otherwise!

Hello,

the Skill Decay option is not meant to tune the difficulty, as its consequences are very long-term and thus hard to apprehend. It's meant for people who don't like to see their skills drop, or just want to play a few tournaments per year.

In your case, you should normally either raise or lower the difficulty level.

Anyway, you can fine-tune it => topic1-472.php .

I took this opportunity to check the global level reached on the skills, and I lowered the default Skill Decay a bit on Pro, Master & Incredible difficulties for the next update (which may come in a long while). :yes:
