Hi manu, Is it possible to hit the ball early (Federer-style) to gain time against opponents?

I’m asking this because by holding down the button to hit the ball, how can we control the exact timing of the shot? Holding it doesn’t provide a precise input for when the shot should start. Does it depend only on positioning?

Also, the tutorial explicitly says that hitting the ball early is a negative. So is there no real way to make that style of play a strength?

you can hit early, just not with the ball on the ground. Is an art on itself and the counter playstyle is the most efficient to play like that

pick the Early ball hit talent ; it's meant for that (but it's not available for online play, as it's OP).

As Jira said, the Country playstyle is good for that as well, but it's not the playstyle of Federer.

You can play on free mode, online/offline and use the early ball talent, you can also try the WTSL mod where this talent is applied to characters on a scale of 0 to 50% (one star).
