Heavy Hitters

Postby squeakybum » 26 Mar 2026, 17:04

Hi Manu,

Many people have noticed that the movement penalty after an acceleration on heavy hitters is a bit too steep, the 0.3s is very noticeable when playing at a high level. Could it be reduced to something like 0.1s?

Thanks for your consideration

Yes , I also agree. There is a reason that almost nobody ever uses a Hard Hitter online in competitive matches. Usually the moment you go down the line with an acceleration the opponent just has to get to it and put it cross court and it’s point over. I also think Hard Hitters need an improvement to make them feasible.

I'd agree with this but then the +6 km/h would feel too strong imo. If you reduce the +6 to a +3/4 for example could be a good balance, like you could choose between instant accelerator +4 but more tiring, or heavy hitter +4 but a slower recovery (taking into account that regular accels also have slower recovery by default, so 0,1 or 0,2 sec would be fine)

0.1 is way too small.

Right now, the run acceleration is divided by 3 for 0.3 seconds ; maybe I could divide it by 2 or 2.5 instead...

Okay dividing the running acceleration by 2 or like 1.5 for 0.3 secs would be good then. Don’t think any other changes to the trait are necessary other than reducing this movement handicap.

We'll try 1st with dividing by 2.5, as I'm afraid it might be OP if the handicap is too small.
