How do I add new music to menus with modding?

Postby Nicky Gi. » 23 Mar 2026, 14:45

Hello manu, I am trying to mod the game and add new music tracks to the menus. How do I do it? I tried creating a music folder and added some ogg track files, but the game crashes on PS5. Is there a tutorial on how to do this correctly?

Hello,

if the game crashes with them, I guess you put the files in the correct place, but the format of the .ogg creates some issues : try to use a 160 kbits 44.1hz stereo format.

How does it crash ? Is the game closed ?

I have the music files in a folder named "Specific", that has an "Ini" folder inside, and inside the "Ini" folder, I have an .ini file that is this :

[Win] // "+" at start means add the section name as folder name to all music files (eg: look within "Music/Win" folder instead of "Music")
Base = +, Victory Theme 2, Victory Theme 3 //, Victory Theme 1

[Menu]
Base = +, Henri Leconte, Ivan Lendl, Stefan Edberg

[Menu_Ingame]
Base = +, Rockafunkaholic

I have created 2 folders inside a "Music" folder, one is "Menu" and the other is "Menu_Ingame" and I have the files inside them. Files are 160kbits as you said in stereo format. Game still crashes on PS5. Also, the "Rockafunkaholic" music file starts playing during rallies, like in the old Virtua Tennis games where you had music while playing matches.

I tried your Mod on my PC (this one https://mod.io/g/tennis-elbow-4/m/us-op ... sound-test , right ? )

The game doesn't play your music because they are .mp3 instead of .ogg, and there's no music during the match.

You should either convert them to .ogg, or give them custom names and update the Music.ini accordingly. (eg: rename Rockafunkaholic.mp3 to MyIngameMusic.mp3 and update the ini to "Base = +, MyIngameMusic")

And how does it crash ? Is the game closed ?

Yeah I did what you said but the game still crashes, don't know why. It crashes in game. Check the latest version of my mod, the files are .ogg

Could you send me a Bug Report after the crash ? Or the menus don't work anymore ?

The music playing during the match should be fixed for the next update, but I couldn't locate a reason for the crash. :fear:

When I am in a Warm Up and press pause to open the menu, the song “Rockafunkaholic” does not start playing. It starts playing after I do some actions in the menu.

When I close Warm Up and go back to the main menu, the other songs like “Ivan Lendl” or “Henri Leconte” do not start playing as well. After some seconds on the menu, the game crashes on PS5.

I have managed to make the songs start playing (after exiting warm up) by opening the mod management menu.

Yes, the delayed start is fixed.

If by crash, you mean the game is closed (with an official Sony message displayed), then it's likely fixed as well : the Modded music track was loaded all at once instead of streamed, requiring a lot more memory than necessary.
