Crowd Animation Frame Drops Question

Postby Nicky Gi. » 14 Mar 2026, 23:23

I was thinking about something while playing the game today. When the crowd starts clapping and the frame rate drops, I noticed that around 95% of the crowd begins clapping at the same time.

What if that percentage were reduced to around 70% or 80%? I’m not sure about the exact number, but it could be tested to see what works best.

Not every person in the crowd needs to clap at every point. Reducing the number of people clapping could lower the CPU load and prevent the frame rate from dropping.

For example, if there are 100 people in the crowd, only about 80 of them would clap while the other 20 will remain idle.

Could this work or not?

Hello,

if only 20% was not clapping, it'd not change much things.

It should be more like 80% not clapping to have some visible effect on the lag, but it would be by zone, so it'd look rather strange.
