Game is overly bright on Playstation after latest patch

Postby Nicky Gi. » 11 Feb 2026, 20:28

I don’t know what happened with the latest patch. It was probably related to the clay court luminosity changes, but it seems like the brightness is now broken across all courts.

I have to reduce my exposure to at least -50% to make it look remotely close as before, and even then it still looks strange. The lighting feels off. Is it possible to restore the lighting to how it was before this patch and just give us the option to disable the dirty clay court lines instead?

I am using the default time setting.

Hello,

I didn't have any issue when I tested the game on all platforms.

The brightness didn't get better after a game restart ? If not, could you put back Exposure to 0% and send me a Bug Report from a match ?

I got your Bug Report ; for me, it's almost the same as before.

However, you can try to add this line to your Tennis.ini, under [Exposure] :
ExposureAgainstTheSun = 1
(HowTo => topic19-32161.php )
and fiddle with it (you'll have to exit Warm Up and launch it again every time to see the change).

I forgot if it should be higher or lower ; start with 0.7 & 1.3 and you should notice some difference (but only when your against the sun, not with the sun in the back).

Okay, when I get home, I will apply your suggestions. However, everything was fine before this patch, except for the clay court sun in the back exposure, where the exposure kept increasing as the court became dirtier.

Hey Manu, the issue is not only with the sun in front of the camera, but the overall brightness and lighting of the game. Would it be possible to release a hotfix that reverts the lighting changes introduced in the last patch?

I completely deleted the game and all mods from my PlayStation, then reinstalled everything from scratch, including the mods, and the problem is still there.

Please consider restoring the brightness to how it was before the patch and just add an option in hidden settings to disable clay court lines getting dirty, so the exposure does not automatically increase. The game looked perfect before.

These are two screenshots I captured on my PS5 with Exposure set to 0%. The screenshot showing Sinner is taken with the sun in front of him. Look how bright it appears due to overexposure. It wasn’t like that before. Also, look how much Alcaraz’s white shirt shines.

No one else complained so far and if it's overall too bright, just lower the Camera -> Exposure.

White shirts were quite bright before as well anyway... Maybe your TV has an auto-brightness feature or something like that ? :thinking:

If it's global, you can try this instead ; add this line to your Tennis.ini, under [Exposure], from :
Compensation = 0.3
to :
Compensation = 0.25

Where can I find Exposure and Compensation in the Hidden Settings on PlayStation? I cannot find them.

P.S. It seems I had to create those entries myself. I set Compensation to 0.20 and ExposureAgainstTheSun to 0.8. The game looks better now. Thanks.

But why did this happen? It was fine before the patch. Did it affect everyone on Playstation or just me? If it only affected me and no one complained, why did this happen?

I changed the way the auto-exposure worked, so the white lines were not taken into account anymore. This made everything brighter, so I used a Compensation of 0.3. After checking, it was a tiny bit brighter than before (for everybody). Maybe you're more sensible to that than other people.
I lowered it to 0.25 for the next update, as it's then identical to before.

So, will exposure increase again when lines get dirty after the next patch? If so, do not lower it back to 0.25. My game is fine now after the changes I made.

I will just change the default value of Compensation ; if you changed it 0.2, it'll stay like this, but for other people, it'll become 0.25 instead of 0.3.

Compensation setting does not seem to affect the night session time. Even if I set compensation at 0.1, the night session lighting stays exactly the same.

Is it possible to add a different setting to change the night session compensation? Like CompensationNightSession or CompensationNight?

Basically, some stadiums in XKT MOD on Night Session seem very bright and others seem fine. I would love to have a setting to change individual stadium compensation. Maybe I am asking too much? 😄😄😄

Night session brightness hasn't been changed. I'm not touching these anymore.

Compensation can be either set to 0.2 or 0.25 or 0.30? Are there in between values like 0.21, 0.22, 0.23 etc?

For ExposureAgainstTheSun, what is the default value?

P.S I still think the default value for compensation should be 0.2 and 1.2 for ExposureAgainstTheSun, that’s just my opinion though.

Thanks! :)

1) You can have any Compensation value.

2) ExposureAgainstTheSun's default is 0.9

3) Correct lighting depends on your monitor and room light condition : there's no 1 setting that fits them all.

This is a screenshot from my PS5 at 4K Res and Exposure set at 0%. Top image is 0.25 Compensation and bottom image is 0.20. Default time of day.

PS Screenshot does not capture what my monitor sees but how the game actually looks.

Which one do you think is better and more realistic? I am leaning towards 0.25 as well but I am not sure 🤔

Maybe 0.20 looks closer to what we see on TV, from real matches.
